With more than 30 years of experience across banking and finance, John Dickson brings a wealth of insight, strategic depth, and proven expertise to Kookaburra Capital. His career spans both retail and commercial lending, giving him a comprehensive understanding of Australia’s financial landscape and the ability to design sophisticated, results-driven finance strategies for his clients.
John’s approach is defined by precision, clarity, and care. He takes the time to understand each client’s objectives, guiding them through the lending process with confidence — from the first discussion to final settlement. His focus is always on creating long-term financial outcomes that support stability, growth, and opportunity.
Before founding Kookaburra Capital, John spent nearly two decades as an Owner-Manager with BOQ, where he built a reputation for leadership, integrity, and exceptional client service. His earlier 13-year tenure with NAB honed his expertise in general banking, securities, and financial planning — skills that underpin every tailored solution he delivers today.
Outside of work, John values time with family and enjoys travel and sport. A passionate supporter of rugby union, cricket, and golf, he believes in the power of teamwork — a principle that shapes both his personal life and the collaborative culture at Kookaburra Capital.
